Happy Halloween

This is the second post of the day. Please scroll down to see some more great cards.

Hi everyone and Happy Halloween to all of our Really Reasonable Ribbon fans. Erika Taylor here today sharing a few projects that give that Halloween/autumn vibe.

The first project is a dress form I created using ribbon in the October Ribbon Club Assortment as well as a few others. Such beautiful ribbons. I created a dress using the sheer black/orange striped (on sale), the black leaves and 1 1/4" Black silk.

I so love how it turned out. Next I have a spooky little banner to share with you. I've used the black satin 5/8" to tie the banner together. The papers and chipboard are from Nikki Sivils. I love that satin ribbon is so strong and can carry the weight of such a layered piece.

That is it for me today. I hope that you have a fantastic Halloween and enjoy this last day of October. We have our new design team ready to rock things outta the park for November. We also have some great challenges and sponsors coming up, so stay tuned.

Toodles

Happy Sunday!

Happy Sunday from Jacque and the rest of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Ramblers! If you are like me, this chilly weather is getting me into a real holiday cardmaking frame of mind. And if you like ribbon and trims as much as I do, then Really Reasonable Ribbon is the exact place to go!! Bonnie has so many lovely offerings that you will be amazed. She also has a Christmas section on the left side bar at her shop which will lead you to some magnificent items.

I thought I would show you a couple of my latest cards which illustrate some of those beautiful products from RRR.

On this card I have used two of my newest LOVES!!!! For the base ribbon treatment I have used the 1.5" White Pleated Satin which is so exquisite and certainly gives much dimension and really makes a statement of elegance I think. To top the satin I used Purple Glitz Ribbon which has such marvelous body, adds so much sparkle, and ties beautifully. Both of these ribbons come in many gorgeous colors, too!!

On this card I have used two of my long-time favorites and my old stand-bys. For the base ribbon treatment I used Red Organza which is available in 4 different widths. This same ribbon is also available in more colors than I can even think about!! Beautiful stuff!! To top the organza I used a Light Blue Satin which has a splendid sheen and great body.

So jump on over to RRR and see what lovelies you might be able to find! If you find something that I WANT or even NEED please let me know!! We hope you will visit us here often and see what exciting tidbits the marvelous DT have for you each day! Until next Sunday, I send big hugs!

"Country Up" Your Cards With Jute String!

Hi True :D here!
I have a card (well...six) to show you that is done with my "Rooster Sunrise" stamp set that will be available November 1st at Clear Dollar Stamps.

I used lots of Kraft paper and some Natural Jute String from Really Reasonable Ribbon to top off that "country" feel.
Check out all of the colors of Jute String that are available. It is a great way to add country charm to any project!

For more pictures and the card recipe, please visit my blog.

Thanks again for dropping by!

A Fond but Sad Farewell

Oooh, I hate that this is my last post. I have so enjoyed my time here as part of the first design team for Really Reasonable Ribbon. I so thought about going for it again, but I think I've worn my wee little brain out in trying to come up with unique and fun ways to use ribbon on layouts! However, I am sure that the new girls (and some of the old) will continue to give you inspiration. Saying that, I do hope that you guys have found my past work inspiring, and I hope you will try some of the techniques that I have shared with you. As you know, I definitely have some of my "favorite" ribbons from the store. I just "couldn't" let you down by not using them for my last layout. Yes, I am using my signature "dot" and "gingham" ribbons.  You will also see some cute pumpkins that I cut off from a pumpkin ribbon, also in the store.  Below is a close up of my layout.

It was so much fun sharing my work with you.  If you would like to see my past work for more inspiration, please click on the label to the right with the name Susan Dupre or layout.  You can also always find me at my blog www.scrappysusandupre.com

 Happy Crafting!

Ribbon and Twine and Snow, Oh my!

Hi! It's Gini, and today is my last post as a DT Member for Really Reasonable Ribbon. It has been such a great experience, and I will really miss working with all of my fabulous team mates. But, I know you will be thrilled with the new line up. I know I will keep checking in on them! For today's card, I used a Snowman stamp from JustRite Stampers. He is wearing a scarf, but instead of coloring it, I replaced it with some of the striped Christmas Ribbon that was in this month's ribbon club. I also added some of my all time favorite sheer ruffled edge ribbon in aqua.
Finally, I wrapped some aqua Baker's Twine around the card and strung on a snowflake charm. This baker's twine is my favorite way to add charms.
Again, thanks for all of your sweet comments during my term!

Meet the new RRR Design Team (and a great SALE code too)!

It's hard to believe that it's time to announce our new RRR Design Team. Where did the last 6 months go?? First I want to thank all of our retiring dt members. They all did a fantastic job and gave us tons of great ideas and inspiration. I encourage you all to visit their blogs and become a follower so you can continue to be inspired by their fantastic work.

I also want to thank everyone who applied for our new dt. There were so many awesome entries that it was very hard to select just 8 people. You'll find some familiar faces below and a couple of brand new ones too. So without further delay, please meet our new Really Reasonable Ribbon Design Team.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi everyone, I'm Erika Taylor and I'm beyond thrilled to be a part of the Really Reasonable Ribbon design team for a second term as one of the Design Team Coordinators. I'm married to the most supportive, loving and loyal husband out there. Mark and I have 2 rambunctious children aged 3 and 6 and we live in Small town Saskatchewan. I've been crafting seriously since 2008 and I love so many types of mediums. I'm very eclectic in style and love trying new products and techniques. I'm definitely part magpie and love anything shiny or glitzy. My favorite dessert is Tiramisu and I'm a Twihard, actually anything mystical. From Vampires, to werewolves, faeries to unicorns. Stop by my blog Taylord Concepts and have a cup of java while you look around. I'm looking forward to sharing with you, many great projects.
Hi! My name is Trudy but friends call me True. I am returning for a second term at RRR as one of the design team coordinators.
My husband, Robert and I were high school sweethearts and are still very happily married today. I am the mother of a wonderful 25 year old son Kurt. I am new @ being a SAHW and loving all of the extra craft time that I didn't have when I worked full time outside of the home.
I have been a crafter of many mediums for as long as I can remember. I have done ceramics, jewelry, pottery, woodwork, cross stitching, oil, watercolor, and acrylic painting, cake decorating, flower arrangements, quilting, and too many more to mention. ;)
Since I started making cards a few of years ago, I have been blessed with many new card making friends, been asked to speak and teach at major craft events, have been lucky enough to have my cards published in magazines and books. I just recently was honored to be asked to be one of 10 contributing artists for a special book called "Coloring Techniques For Card Making" published by DRG / Annie's Attic!!!!
It is a great feeling knowing that people all over the USA are receiving my cards. I hope each and every one of them is cherished by the receiver. I also love seeing other people create with stamps that I illustrate. I love sharing my craft with others and following other artists for inspiration and fun!
I currently design and illustrate clear and digi stamps for Clear Dollar Stamps. I also design for Really Reasonable Ribbon, The Paper Temptress , Creative Charms, and I Brake For Stamps.
I LOVE playing with ribbons and use it on almost all of my creations so it is amazing being on the Really Reasonable Ribbon design team. The girls are all awesome and the ribbons are to die for! ;) Stop over at my blog True's Gifts from the Heart and take a look around.
Hi everyone. My name is Jacque and I'm so happy to be returning for another term at Really Reasonable Ribbon. I am a retired college professor who readily admits to the Magnolia Addiction and I am NOT in search of a 12-step plan to overcome it. These little children have found their way into my heart and I get much joy from showcasing them with paper and coloring. I kinda enjoy these paperdolls for grown-ups!! I enjoy using the wonderful ribbon at Really Reasonable Ribbon to embellish my cards and other creations. I rarely make a project that doesn't include ribbon. Please visit my blog Jacque's Joie de Vivre to see some of my latest projects.
Hello everyone, my name is Cheryl Walker and I'm super excited to be staying on with RRR as a full time designer! Ive been married for 20 years to the most wonderful husband in the world, and we have 3 wonderful kids together. We also have 2 cats (the boys) and 1 dog (Chloe). We now live in Utah. I was born and raised in California and lived there for 35 years before moving to Utah in 2005. Yes, that means I'm now 40....hehehehehe :) I used to scrapbook back in 1995-1998 and then took a break for awhile. I started cardmaking in 2005 shortly after our move to Utah. I went to a SU! class and was hooked!! Now I do cards, scrapbooking, altered items and other fun projects too. I'd love to have you visit my blog Sweet Designs by Cheryl.
Hello! My name is Kerri Michaud and I am THRILLED to join the Really Reasonable Ribbon full time DT! I am a stay at home mom to 3 beautiful children ages 7, 6, and almost 3, and have been married for 10 years to my amazing and wonderful husband, Barry. We currently live outside of Orlando, Florida, but we both grew up in Wyoming. I have a huge passion for card making and I also love to make 3-D items such as gift boxes and bags, as well as hair bows for my daughter. I adore the ribbon that Bonnie carries at Really Reasonable Ribbon, and I know you will too! Stop on over at my blog Cards by Kerri and see what I've been working on this week.
Hello scrappers! My name is Aphra, and I live down south in Louisiana with my Alaskan oil man Jeff and our two boys, Jonathan (10) and Ethan (3). While my husband is tromping around in the Alaskan tundra for weeks at a time, I'm home working part-time at a doctor's office, chasing around two rowdy boys, cleaning up after our miniature dachshund Max, and staying up into the wee hours of the night scrapbooking. I fell in love with this hobby back in 2000 when my oldest son was born, and I get more and more addicted with each new product release. It's my passion, my creative outlet, my sanity! Mostly, I create layouts of my family, but I also enjoy making cards, gifts, and decor. Honestly, I will use any excuse to get to scrapbook!
I'm thrilled to have been selected to join the Really Reasonable Ribbon team, and I am looking forward to working with the amazing ribbons that are in stock. Please stop by my blog My Scrappy Life and say hi!
Hi everyone! My name is Connie and I was born and raised in hot and sunny southern Arizona, where I still reside. In June 1994 I married my high school sweetheart and best friend. We have two wonderful children together.
Paper crafting has been a passion of mine for many years. I have been stamping on and off since shortly after I got married in 1994. However, in 2004 one of my dear friends got me hooked on stamping again. A few years later I was introduced to SplitCoastStampers (SCS) where you may know me as cmc2stamp. I have learned so much from the other wonderfully talented stampers on SCS and stamping/paper crafting blogs I frequent…as a result my own stamping style has grown by leaps and bounds over the last few years!
I have an ever growing gallery on SCS and a blog McStampin Dusk Til' Dawn, which I started in September 2008. In addition to stamping, I really enjoy the outdoors - camping and hiking, and spending time with my loving family!
I am thrilled to be part of the Really Reasonable Ribbon Design team!! I LOVE ribbon…I pretty much use it on every card or paper project I create!
Hello everyone, my name is Tilly and I am so excited about being chosen for the RRR design team. I can’t wait to get playing and sharing ideas and inspiration with you using the wonderful ribbons and other accessories Bonnie has on offer for us crafting junkies.
I live in New Zealand, way out in the country on a little farm, with my husband of 38 years and lots of animals. It’s heaven. My first crafting love is cardmaking in its various forms, from stamping to collage, and all the variations in between. I’ve always been a crafter and got hooked on stamping about 12 years ago, but it was inevitable that I would start adding ribbon and buttons and all the other amazing embellishments available out there, as I MUST add dimension in some form or another! I sew the same way, changing and embellishing most projects, and often have to remind myself that “less is more” (a real problem for me sometimes!) I have a trusty 40+ year old sewing machine that has lived on 3 continents over the years, from South Africa to Canada to New Zealand, and my need to sew sits right next to my need for papercrafting.
I’ve done a bit of demonstrating at craft fairs, have sold my cards, and give many sets of cards away as gifts, as well as making cards for the Hospice, which is an amazing organization needing every cent they can get. I’ve been published in a number of craft and cardmaking magazines in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand (mostly Take Ten and the Australian Cardmaking, Stamping & Papercraft magazine in the past few years.)
I hope you will be inspired by my contributions to the RRR blog, and would be honoured if you would visit my blog This, that and everything in between to see what I’ve been creating.
Cardinal Christmas Wishes
Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday to you all!! Todays card is Cardinal Pine Bough and Christmas Wishes!
On my card today I used this BEAUTIFUL 1.5" Ivory Pleated Satin ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon. I think this ribbon is perfect for cards, scrapbook pages, photo books, and recipe cards. There are different colors to choose from, but I decided to use the ivory for my card today.
I also used Brown Glitz Ribbon for my bow! I love the look of this ribbon and its kinda hard to see the full glitz in my picture here. Here is a link to the ribbon, and there are others tooo in the Metallic section of the store!!
I used the ivory ribbon as a border going down the side of my card. I then added sewing to this panel. Next I made the smaller panel and added sewing to it as well.
For my image I used Heartfelt Creations Lg. Cardinal Pine Bough and Matching diecuts to layer the cardinal. I've colored my image with copics, and layered my cardinal with foam squares.
Lastly I added a bow with buttons. All ribbons are from Really Reasonable Ribbon! And Bonnie carries sooo many Beautiful ribbons and her prices are AWESOME!!!! Check out all the ribbons HERE!!! Have fun!
Thank you for looking and enjoy your day!
Hugs,
Cheryl
Guest Designer - Karen Maldonado
Hello and happy Monday to you!! It's Karen here, and I am thrilled that Bonnie asked me to share some NEW creations I've made with you today!!
I love to design my cards, projects, and scrapbook layouts with ribbons, lace, twine, satin, etc. and I must tell you that Really Reasonable Ribbon has such a vast variety of ribbons to meet anyone's crafty taste!! Right now, I'd love to show you two of my favorite styles to create..vintage & shabby!!
First, I have this vintage style card that I am sharing with you today!! When I saw that huge wired ribbon, I knew straight away that I would be folding it!! To add more vintage feel, I layered the wire ribbon with some crocheted lace!!
Additionally, if you look closely you can see the lavendar reversible ribbon peeking through beneath the crocheted lace that wraps around the long heart!! To top of my card, I added some Licorice Baker's twine around a beautiful May Arts stick pin and tied it up into a bow!! So, here's a close up for you so that you can see the details up close!! Feel free to click on the images, if you would like!!
Check this out, I used all these GORGEOUS ribbons, lace & twine all on my vintage card:
Then, for my second card, I went a little shabby! The beautiful pink wrinkled ribbon has been gathered toward the top of the ribbon with some thread, and then I tied the thread into a knot to form this beautiful backing for my big flower embellisment& sentiment.
Right beneath my embellishment, I decided to run some fabulous pink crocheted ribbon, and then topped it off by adding the Spring Green Satin Ribbon on top of the crocheted lace!!
Here's a close-up view showing the sweet button embellisment I added to the Spring Green Ribbon bow! I also added some Cotton Candy Bakers Twine through the buttons and tied it up into a bow and added a sweet little pink pearl!!
And..can you believe, I used these STUNNING ribbons, laces, & twine all on my shabby card!!
So, again..thank you to Bonnie for letting me share my cards today, and for letting me design today's creations with these FABULOUS Really Reasonable Ribbon's!!!
If you would like, come visit my blog! I'd love for your to drop by!!
Have a wonderful week!!
Hugs,
Karen
A Masculine Card with Ribbon?
What the heck right?
First of all let me introduce myself.
My name is Corry Smyrski & I was asked by Bonnie to 'pinch hit' today at the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings Blog!
Of course I nearly flipped outta my crafting chair (OK, arm chair....but crafting chair makes me sound so much more busy-lol) when she asked me to whip something up! I am truly honored!
The card I have for you today is a card I posted on my blog yesterday for a very special blog hop card drive! Please pop over to my blog for the details.
It is a Thanksgiving card for a man!
Yup, a man.
They simply don't get enough credit out here in the card world.
I have used a couple of VASTLY different ribbons from the Really Reasonable Ribbon website.
The off-white Jute ribbon is a recent purchase & when I saw it in the RRR store I knew I HAD to have it (& all the other colors offered-haha)
And the shimmery Satin Apple green ribbon is part of my RRR Monthly Ribbon Club Assortment.
The thing I love about the ribbon club assortment packs is that you get so many different ribbons all at once....rather than buying 8 yards of ONE TYPE at your local store.
Keep that in mind if you want more of a variety in your ribbon drawer.
Thanks for taking the time to check out the Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings blog today.
I hope you can find time to pop on over to my blog for the fantastic blog hop I mentioned above.
Take Care!
Stock Up On Ribbon For Christmas Gifts, Craft Shows, and RAK's!
Hello All!
True :D
With all of the free time I have now-a-days, I have decided to start doing craft shows again. :)
One of my first projects are some little clothespin magnet sets.
They are super cute, super easy, and can sell for just about nothing and still make good profit.
They would make great little teacher gifts or stocking stuffers!
For this style, I used Basic Grey's "Pixielisious" stack and Really Reasonable Ribbon's Organza Dots in Kiwi and Lavender ribbon to add the finishing "pop"!.
The bows are of course tied with the Bow-easy!
Really Reasonable Ribbon has an awesome selection of ribbons for your crafty needs. Why not go check it out now?
I still need to work on the packaging but this gives you an idea!
It is not too late to join us in our Halloween challenge!
You could win one of 2 great prizes!
If you haven't checked out the latest blog candy on my blog...CLICK HERE! :)
Love to hear what you think!
Weavin' It!
Hello everyone!! I hope you are all enjoying your Friday! Can you believe that October is almost over? Before you know it the year will be over too. I just don't know where the time goes. Very rarely do I get to do "girlie" layouts. I always love it when I get to. I used some papers from the Summer Breeze collection by My Little Shoebox. I had this cute little picture of my niece and nephew running, and it just seemed to work. Then, of course, why not finish it off with some girlie lace and velvet ribbon! You can find that beautiful lace HERE and the pink soft pretty velvet ribbon HERE in the store. Since they are both so pretty and I wanted to use both of them on my layout. I decided to weave the ribbon through the lace. It has a nice sweet feminine effect, don't you think?
I hope you were inspired! For more layout ideas, click the "layout" label on the right.
Happy Crafting, Susan Dupre
All that Glitters
Hi! It's Gini and I have a very metallic and shiny card to share with you today. You know how some metallic ribbons are really stiff and scratchy? Well, let me tell you...this Metallic Band Edge Gold/Brown is anything but that. It is so soft and supple - very luxurious. It was perfect with the metallic designer paper I used for this card. The flower stamps are from Heartfelt Creations.
Thanks for looking!
Sweet Tilda
Hello everyone and Happy Tuesday to all! It's Cheryl here again and today I'm sharing a card I designed using 2.5 Jute Ribbon, Sheer Ruffled Edge Old Gold, and brown sheer trim.
On my card I used the Jute (different sizes can be found here at Really Reasonable Ribbon) behind Tilda and added sewing around it. The ruffled ribbon is tied around the one panel and I added a bow with the same ruffled ribbon and also some trim.
I used Magnolia Tilda from Michelle's Scrapbooking and more. She is colored with copics and then cut out. She is popped off the circle frame with foam squares. I added some sewing and gems to complete my card.
I LOVE all the ribbons that Bonnie carries over at the Really Reasonable Ribbon Store, there are soooo many different kinds and shades of ribbon :) To see all the different ribbons visit the RRR Store HERE!!! Have fun, I know I always do :) and her prices are AWESOME!!! Super fast Shipping too :)
Thank you for looking and have a lovely day!
Hugs,
Cheryl
